The Central Board of Assessment Appeals, in collaboration with Isabelita Rosueta Organization (IROG), conducted an outreach program for the Elderly Indigenous People (IP) Community of Sitio Lawin, Brgy. San Rafael, San Marcelino, Zambales last October 12, 2019, Saturday.
The event was held in celebration of this year’s Elderly Filipino Week and in response to the government’s call for public awareness on the plight of the elderly and to address their pressing needs.
To kick off the activity, Pastor Ramil Tuazon, Advisor of IROG, led the opening prayer, followed by an inspirational message from the CBAA Chairperson Manuel D.J. Siayngco. In his speech, Chairperson Siayngco said that sharing is CBAA’s way of giving thanks for all the blessings the Agency has received.
Highlights of the activity include interactive games for the IP children, feeding and donation of gift items to 30 families.
Aside from the volunteers from the Isabelita Rosueta Organization (IROG) led by Ms. Roselyn T. Castillo, also present in the event were Bruce Curran, an author and freelance writer, and photographers Kevin Hamdorf and Randy Anderson.
The program concluded with a prayer led by CBAA Commissioner Ramon A.I. Banta.
